There are various ways to fix steel wire ropes on the drum, but usually pressure plate screws or wedges are used to ensure the stability of the steel wire rope tail using the principle of friction. The requirement for fixation is that it must be sufficiently firm and safe, easy to inspect and disassemble, and must not cause excessive bending or damage to the steel wire rope at the fixation point.

Firstly, the wedge block fixing method is introduced, which is commonly used for steel wire ropes with smaller diameters. It does not require the use of bolts and is particularly suitable for multi-layer winding drums.

The second is the long Flat noodles fixing method. The long Flat noodles with groove is fixed on the drum along the axial direction of the wire rope by the pressing force of the screw.

Finally, the pressure plate fixation method is the most common form of fixation. It uses pressure plates and screws to fix the steel wire rope, which is simple and reliable, and also easy to observe and inspect. However, the disadvantage of this method is that it takes up a large amount of space, so it is not suitable for multi-layer winding. From a safety perspective, at least two pressure plates are required to ensure the fixing effect.

The fixing methods of wire rope of wire rope electric hoist on the drum mainly include wedge fixing, long Flat noodles fixing and pressing plate fixing. To ensure the reliability of fixation, the force on the pressure plate or wedge should be minimized as much as possible. When the retrieval device reaches the lower limit position, in addition to the fixed ring of the steel wire rope, a safety ring of 1.5-3 turns should be retained on the drum.
